Part of the problem too is that we never see the Carrack and Dreadnaught doing any of the fighting outside of the graphic novels and even then it isn't shown very much so its hard to say just how much of the fighting they were doing. We don't see it very often in TCW but in the original animated show and in the graphic novel and some of the novelizations we see that there are large military units comprised of non-clones so having something as cheap as the T.I.E. Though you also have to consider that it wasn't just clones doing the fighting. The numbers don't really hold up when you look at the number of units we see fighting in the various sources and when you add in the logistical requirements and attrition rate of the clones themselves. Well I think part of the problem is that when Lucas and co designed the Clone Wars era they didn't take into account just how expansive the war really was and just how many personnel it takes to run a military so they low balled the number of clones by a large margin.
